Experience Moving with Gentle Giant

July 2026 I am going to be moving soon within DC and was wondering if people had recent experience with Gentle Giant Moving. Unfortunately, I was late reserving a loading dock at my new place and am a bit low on options for time. I was forced to schedule time on a loading dock for the last day of my current lease but am currently looking into alternatives.
I'm hoping that there won't be any issues but was hoping that people might have recent experience they would be willing to share about moving day with them. Do they arrive on time? Are they quick if I'm only moving furniture? Etc. I'd appreciate any insight you'd be willing to offer.
I used them for a very large and very complex move (lots of delicate artwork) and they were fabulous. They are very quick, very strong (carried very large antique furniture without a problem), good natured and as far as I remember they arrived in time (maybe a few mins late). I'd use them again without reservations.3
Hired them for our move from DC to MD, 10/10 would absolutely recommend. Office was organized and responsive, moving crew worked quickly and were careful with our items. They showed up a couple minutes before 8 (our scheduled time), had everything loaded, moved, and unloaded before noon.3 demmaltionderby
Highly recommend them—I’ve used them for multiple pack-and-moves and they have been amazing, finishing sooner than estimated and under budget.3
I moved from the northeast to DC during the snowcrete debacle and Gentle Giant was really phenomenal. Even with all of the snow making everything 10x more difficult, they still showed up on time, were quick but gentle with my things, and were just generally super kind and helpful. Would absolutely recommend them for moving.
I should also add that they will call ahead a couple of days in advance to sort out specifics and answer questions, and then the movers themselves will call you when they’re heading out so any timing issues you’re aware of ahead of time.2
